I offhandedly described myself as a "string witch" a little bit ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. It's a ridiculous name but given how much time I spend with thread or yarn in my hands, it seems apt lately.
The more I think about it, though, the deeper it goes- not just bookbinding and knot magic and embroidery and sewing and jewelry-making (both with cordage and with wire, because isn't wire just metal string?) but also much of my understanding and visualization of magic and energy is in the form of strings: seeing them, manipulating them, following them.
Just a thing I've been thinking about.
